Garage - Serving Wherever We Go - Using Spiritual Gifts

Ministry happens in neighborhoods, workplaces, homes, schools, church—wherever we go.  Wherever
we are or go there we are ministers, ambassadors of Christ, his witnesses.  If not then we have
compartmentalized our lives into areas where God reigns in our lives and other where He does not.  The
key is always be open to and being aware of what God is doing around us, so we can be a part of what
God wants to do through us.  Wherever we go there are signs, evidence of God’s activity.  In whatever
situation we are in there is opportunity to get in on what God is doing.

The temptation of families is to cloister and become isolated, so this is an essential part of the blueprint
in helping us understand that ministry can and should happen wherever we go; that we not only receive
but give.  Ministry isn’t relegated to the church building alone, but of course does include the ministries
of the church.

VBS Partnership Update– We are partnering with Lawrence First to do an outdoor VBS at a John
Anderson Park July 15th-18th 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  Here are some of the logistics to be in prayer about
and have been worked out and answered through prayer.

•
After School Program- I have been thinking and praying that perhaps from this VBS we will get
some leads on potential families and kids whom would be part of the After School program whatever
that may look like.  Please be in prayer about that potential as well as for a coordinator to facilitate this
work.

•
Kid Splash and Sunday School- Please be in prayer for these ministries as they will most likely be
the most immediate and best way to connect these kids.  I hope these possibilities excite you and that
as we jump into this adventure we will see the Lord's blessings and hand upon it.

•
 Yard Sale Friday June 11th 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Saturday June 12th 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Donations for the
sale including gently used clothing are needed and can be put in the fellowship hall or brought to the
main church building.  Volunteers to help set and price items are needed.  See Dawnda Pentlin or Beth
Forgrave for more information.

Angel Food Ministries (AFM) Thanks to everyone who provides their time, diligent leadership and
prayer to the Lord for this ministry.  Be in prayer with me for the people that we will be serving.  That we
will serve each one with cheerful compassion, have opportunity to engage in conversation beyond the
box of food, and that each one we serve will be more than names on an order list but will become
names written in the Lamb's Book of Life.  Each month we eat lunch together and spend time in prayer
for AFM and each participant.  The next distribution day is Saturday June 26th.

•
All Church Work Days- Saturday June 5th 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Saturday June 12th 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
For more information see the church bulletin.
